The Ladybird's Playlist
Remember to Play!
My decompress is to drive in my 1969 MGB Roadster and sing at the top of my lungs. Because some days you just need to not take life too seriously.
see more about this car below..
I grew up in in a Cul de sac filled with families and kids in Brisbane and my dad loved sports cars. So in the mid 80's the Mg arrived on the back of a tow truck. He borrowed money from his best mate and paid it off with working on weekends. All the kids helped pushing it up the the shed, Mum was peeved, Dad had bought a car that had been in a crash and it was in pretty bad shape.
Dad and I would spend every afternoon after school working on the car, I loved spending time with him and getting my hands dirty and the puzzle of it all. We got the car going and dad drove it when he could and when I went off to join the film industry in my early 20's it was loaned to me to take care of it . I drove it to Sydney and while I lived in Bondi for a spell I would park it out on the street, it never locked. Time marched on , dad had the car back for a long time and as his health has declined and he can longer drive in it. So the car has made its way back to me and sparked its next chapter. I have been slowly restoring it again and drive it when its sunny. I joined a car club down here in the Tweed and absolutely love driving it and banging out a horrific tune. Singing is not one of my superpowers. I've broken down loads in it. But that's part of the adventure ..
So above is the playlist , wind your windows down, crank it up and sing like nobody can hear you!
